BIOGRAPHY

Maxime Eugène Manuel Pereira Tamayo lives and works between Brussels and the South , where he develops his practice in sculpture, installation, and performance, reflecting the concept of discomfort in a dramatic pun within a normalized Western world and its porous relationship with the field of art. He began his studies at the École d’art des Rocailles in Biarritz in 2015 and later moved to Brussels to continue his education. He completed his first master's degree in installation and performance at the ERG in 2021, followed by a second master's degree in Vrije Kunsten at the Luca School of Arts in 2022, as well as a teaching qualification in visual arts and space at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels in 2022. Since September 2022, he has been working as a plastic arts teacher or as an instructor in Belgian secondary schools. He participated in the 11th Young Sculpture Prize of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles in 2023 and is currently preparing an exhibition for the 16th edition of Art at the Center in Liège, which will take place in February 2025.
